With all of Eric's family living here in the valley it is pretty typical that we celebrate birthdays 1 month at a time. Sometimes with the nieces and nephews there might be separate birthday parties so they can have their own celebrations. And typically for the birthday of any of the sisters/sister-in-laws we girls all get together and go out, either for lunch, dinner or a movie. Since there are so many of us and the birthdays are each spread out, this equates to us getting together almost 1x a month just to do some kind of birthday celebration, not including the times we get together just to get together, which happens anywhere from 1-3xs a week. We are really lucky that we get to do this because most families aren't lucky enough to live this close to their siblings. Plus knowing that our time is starting to dwindle down we are trying to take advantage of these family get-togethers.
On one of the last Mondays of January we girls and young kids (those not in school or preschool) went to Joe's Farm Grill to celebrate Connie's 29th birthday.

Man they have such great food there! I am seriously a big fan. I remember this particular day because this was the day that Gabriel officially started smiling for the camera. Up until this point he would just do his typical scowl. But since this day, any time the camera is out (or phone) Gabriel has started purposefully doing the cutest cheesy grin.

He is so photogenic, I love it!
Plus, having him right with the cousins his same age, so much fun!

To celebrate everyone else's birthday for January, and those that we missed in December we did a family birthday celebration the last Sunday of January.

Birthdays are awesome. If for nothing else, it is a great excuse to eat cake!
