Eric and I have been just loving doing all sorts of fun activities in celebration of the holiday. We started the month off right by putting up our own decorations on the 1st. Since this is our first year on our own we had to buy a lot of things, but we consider it to be a great investment. It really has helped to add a sort of ambiance to our home. Plus with a melted wax burner that gives off the a warm aroma of cinnamon and vanilla it feels like Christmas day every day.
I especially love the little stockings we put up for Mido and Raggio. They just tickle me every time I look at them. Those two cats really are a part of our family.
Just look at those two adorable faces, how could we not love them? They provide so much life and adventure to our little home.
I am pretty proud of my creation this year.
I figured that the M&M's on the bottom represented the rocks that I have grown up with my entire life. Never had snow at Christmas, but I have always had rocks. Although I will say that these rocks were a lot tastier than any of the other ones I have had at any other house growing up.
The holiday fun has continued with other activities including: White Elephant parties, drinking lots of Hot Chocolate, working the Breakfast with Santa activity (at work - where I was given a pretty rad looking elf hat), Ward Christmas Luau (complete with singing "On the 12th Day of Christmas my Tutu Bird Gave to Me..."), and seeing lots of Christmas lights.
I would have to say that Christmas lights are one of my all-time favorites for the season.
I just love how they brighten up the dark night and give some pizazz and fun to the world.
There are so many great places to see Christmas lights. I can see them everywhere I go as I run errands around town, but there are other places set up just specifically to spread the light, such as: Glendale Glitters, Night of Lights (in Gilbert), the lights at the Mesa Temple, McCormick Stillman Railroad park, the Phoenix Zoo, and even Winterhaven down in Tucson. Eric and I have only gone to the ZooLights, but we have plans to see the temple lights later this week and hopefully hitting up Winterhaven when we go down to Tucson for Christmas.
I just love Christmas Lights!!! Love love love!!
I love the holiday season. Best part of all, the month is only 2/3 of the way over, there is still lots of time left to party. I am looking forward to doing more fun activities to celebrate.
Hooray for the Christmas Season!! I love it!!
