Nooget

Around Thanksgiving we decided that it was officially time to share our big news, and we did so with family.  It consisted of an email that contained this picture:

And now we can add to this little tidbit of joy by stating:

To say we were shocked by hear it was a girl is a bit of an understatement.  Eric and I were about 95% certain that it was going to be a boy.  My pregnancy symptoms have all been the same as last time, boys run in my family (I mean, look at my family: I have 4 older brothers, and each one of my dad's siblings had a ton of boys and only 1-2 girls), and thinking logically about it, having another boy would have been ideal. 

Here is how my conversations often went with Heavenly Father:
 "So, I am doing what you wanted, having another baby right after Gabriel just like you asked.  Things are a bit tight financially - as you are well aware of (living in humility, got it)...you wanna help us out by making it a boy so that we don't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe or anything?  That would be oober helpful, because we pretty much have all the necessary things and would be set.  Plus it would give Gabriel his wrestling buddy.  So... we have a deal? Good, glad we had this talk." 

Well, time rolled around to have the ultrasound giving us the gender and the technician goes: "Ahh, yep... uh huh.... and it looks like you guys will be having A GIRL!".....

My response: "What?!? .... Are you sure?.... Can you check again?"

The tech was about 98% certain that it was a girl as she checked again.  Nooget (baby girl) was in a funky position at that time and she wasn't able to get the full ultrasound at that time, so we had to schedule a 2nd ultrasound for 2 weeks later.

As family members asked us at that time if we knew the sex we lied (sorry everybody) saying the tech couldn't see and that we had to go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound.  We did know... but we just wanted to be 100% sure.

Well, went in for the 2nd ultrasound, had the same ultrasound technician, and got the same result. "Oh yeah, no doubt about it, it is 100% a girl!"

Ready or not, baby girl Nooget is on her way sometime around end of May/beginning of June!
