Originally we were waiting for a family member to participate. Then we decided we would go ahead and bless him in July.
Well, my 4th brother Tyler and his wife left from July-September so he could do rotations for his 4th year of medical school. In July they were in Hawaii, August he was in Texas and in September they were in Washington.
So, we said, ok, we will bless Gabriel beginning of October. But in October my mom was up in Utah doing family history and genealogy for 3 weeks.
Ok, we will bless him 1st Sunday in November. As luck would have it, 1st Sunday of November my Dad and brother both got really sick.
Last chance, first Sunday in December. And what do you know, we actually did the blessing.
Eric and I talked a lot about just going ahead and doing the blessing without family members so we could get it done sooner. But we both knew it was really important for our family to be present because in the future who knew if anyone would be able to attend other kids' blessings depending on where we would be in the world for Eric's Air Force career.
In the end we were very happy to have as much family present as we did. It was a wonderful day and the blessing itself was beautiful.
